In the News: David beats Goliath this round in NYC As Ranked Choice shows what’s possible

In his article for Rank the Vote, Nathan Lockwood writes about the use of Ranked Choice Voting in the New York City Democratic primary election. Lockwood said, "In this primary election at least, David beat Goliath, and ranked choice voting was the slingshot that enabled it to happen."

Though, as Lockwood goes on to write about, there is still much to be done to improve elections in New York City. Among the other issues he lists, he mentions how many voters were locked out of the primary due to their independent affiliation, and how open primaries can fix this, including a picture of volunteers from Unite NY and Let Us Vote picketing the polls on the day of the primary elections.
