In the News: Democratic primary race turnout under 30% in NY's largest cities

In his article for Gothamist, Jimmy Vielkind discussed stunningly low voter turnout numbers in some of New York's largest cities. Vielkind went on to mention the push for opening up the state's closed primary system, including a quote from Susan D'Entremont, a 58-year-old Albany resident, who, on primary election day, signed on to Unite NY's movement to pressure the legislature into opening up the primaries. 

Vielkind included a quote from D'Entremont in the article, where she said “I think it's important, especially as fewer and fewer people are registered as Democrats or Republicans, there's fewer and fewer people that can have a voice in New York state and local politics,"
