John Bullis

A longtime higher education leader and community advocate, Dean Emeritus John Bullis has devoted his career to building stronger institutions and communities across upstate New York. His work in organizational development, change management, government relations, and community and public relations has spanned the academic, nonprofit, and economic development sectors.

John held executive leadership positions at Herkimer College and Mohawk Valley Community College for more than three decades. He previously served as Director of Ithaca Alpha House, a residential drug treatment facility in Trumansburg, NY, and as Executive Director of the Cooperstown Chamber of Commerce.

He currently serves on the governing board of Bassett Medical Center and advises the Human Technologies Corporation board in Utica. He is a founding member of the Mohawk Valley Civic Club. John's leadership has been recognized with the Genesis Award for Healthcare Leadership, the SUNY Chancellor's Award for Professional Service, and the NCSPOD Exemplar Award. He is a U.S. Navy veteran.
