Riley Hart
Capital Region Organizer
Riley Hart moved back to her native Schenectady County in 2017 to realize with dismay how un-democratic the State is. She is happy to be working to fix that, creating a new career in non-partisan reforms close to home.
Riley discovered her love of non-partisanship while volunteering extensively for Braver Angels, a national organization dedicated to fostering understanding and connection across the political divide. She established leadership roles at the state and national levels and also moderated rich and challenging workshops.
Riley also volunteered with Changing the Conversation for Progress, which uses deep canvassing in low-turnout areas of Philadelphia to get out the vote. In addition to training and coaching canvassers and serving in several behind-the-scenes roles, Riley put in hundreds of hours of deep canvassing herself. She is honored by the trust Philadelphia voters placed in her, exchanging personal stories and exploring how their values tie to voting.
Her prior professional experience spans science education, mediation, business analysis, project and team management, and human resources. She holds degrees in physics (Yale) and teaching (Tufts).
